About Dr. Juliana Claps
I’m Dr. Juliana Claps, a licensed clinical psychologist and founder of Wholesome Resolutions. I have over a decade of experience across a range of settings, including rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities, intensive outpatient programs, school-based settings, college counseling centers, youth helplines, and private practice. This experience allows me to understand mental health across different stages of life and levels of care.
Training
I earned my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in psychological assessment, along with an M.S. and B.A. in Psychology. My research on children’s development of gender stereotypes has been presented at national conferences, and my doctoral dissertation focused on maternal personality traits and birth setting decisions.
Therapeutic Approach
My work is grounded in psychodynamic and family systems perspectives, which focus on how early experiences, relationships, and emotions shape the patterns we carry into adulthood. I integrate this with practical, evidence-based tools from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), so we can understand what’s driving your experiences and build effective ways to navigate them.
Therapy is collaborative and guided by what matters most to you. Early sessions focus on understanding your story, and over time we work toward your goals in a way that feels thoughtful, practical, and supportive. Many clients find that therapy becomes a space where they can talk more openly than they have before.
Outside of Therapy
Outside of my work, I value time with my family and enjoy gardening, DIY projects, technology, and exploring ideas in philosophy and spirituality.
